More animals

This is our new house for the next 18 months with our 2012 diesel Nisson
truck that has a crew cab and is turbo charged. Dave has been learning
to drive on the wrong side of the road and is doing quite well.Chris has
yet to try. The house is light and airy with a sunken living room where
I predict I will forget and fall on my face at some point.

We only have hot water in the shower which is directly off the main hall
and in the tub in the master bedroom. There are only two bedrooms. The
black tank you can see collects rain water from the roof and underneath
that is the water storage tank. That water is pumped up on demand to a
similar tank in the rear which is up on stilts.

Inside the floor is a white tile with blue diamonds. The shower which is
just off the main hall is pink tile with swirls. The shower head is
equipped with a on demand heater but you have to first turn the water on
then the electric switch and when you get through you have to turn the
switch off before you turn off the water or you get shocked. My score is
one shower without a shock and one with. This house is in a huge
subdivision,, Villa View, and is the only one around. There is a lot of
new building going on and all are built with a variation of the same
stone as our house.

The roads however, are abominable- no paving just rough dirt. We have
walked around each morning and not covered it all yet. The missionariies
live right next door. They do not have a vehicle and must walk or take
the Matatu or small bus. We are not allowed to take it because they
sometimes cram 20 people into the small van. The traffic is crazy with
no real laws but there are a lot of speed bumps by towns or Matatu stops
called stages. I am so glad Dave is learning to drive out here because
Nairobi is a nightmare and a half with people cutting in at will and the
four roundabouts get so jammed a traffic cop has to control traffic at
peak times.
